The 7th June 2008 is the ELIANT World-Day

On this day signatures are to be collected actively in the streets of every larger city in Europe and in the World.

A collaboration between the Youth Section and ELIANT

Where? All over Europe particularly, but also supported by the international community. Each major city or area will have an agent.

How? By establishing a pyramid system, through Youth-networks and on the Internet using the avenue of the Internet community platforms like Facebook and StudiVz. The system works in this way: each involved person first gathers and motivates a group of about 10 agents around her, and then asks each of them to do the same.

When? Date of the Action Day: Saturday 7^th June 2008. There will be a mass collection of signatures on the streets, and those who wish can organize a Signature-Party in the evening where petitions can be signed.

To be recognized as a commitment to civil society that should be taken seriously when it brings issues before the European parliament in Brussels. Those groups that are able to show this level of support have a political lobby, which can influence what is discussed, and introduce important exceptions into the Parliament’s recommendations.

We are working to ensure that cultural diversity and quality of life in Europe are preserved. Initiatives of applied anthroposophy belong to this diversity and contribute greatly to our quality of life and thus ensure the enrichment of our society. In various fields the development of such initiatives is already at risk: for example, through compulsory vitamin supplementation of infant foods or the withholding of permits for anthroposophic medicines. We wish to ensure that such initiatives are given the freedom and legal space they need to continue their work.
